The Author
Theresa Diiti (penned), graduated with a Master’s of Science degree in Rehabilitation Counseling. She currently works in Human and Social Services, encouraging low-income families to move away from public assistance programs and toward self-sufficiency.
She has played a vital role in promoting continued education and training for both youth and adults. Theresa is a member and trainer for the Rescue and Restore Coalition and she is an advocate against domestic violence. She is currently cultivating creative ideas to help others find employment.
Having spent the past fifteen years working in Human and Social Services, Theresa has watched public assistance and community services programs evolve—sometimes not for the better. Punished for Working is Theresa Diiti’s first non-fiction work, which looks at public assistance services in comparison to employment and asks, “Are we being punished for working?” Theresa currently resides in the Heartland.
